CONTRACT ABUSES IN SABAH

PROOF…Hiew showing the downloaded statement from the website Sabahkini.net.

SABAH DAP is very surprise to see the Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman is issuing a statement saying he has no knowledge and will call for an investigation to probe into the alleged billion ringgits of contracts works in Sabah that had been taken by certain quarters.

This information of the contracts was uploaded and reported in one of the Sabah website Sabahkini.net. The matters was also referred to the MACC by the Youth Information Chief of PKR Sabah, Zainuddin Hassan later, and this involving 16 Mega project distributed to 42 companies listed in the web.

Dr. Hiew King Cheu the Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament said, that it is high irregular for a CM cum Minister of Finance of Sabah for not knowing what is going right under his nose whereby he has the full power to even give away contract work.

The funniest part is why these 16 mega projects and its contract work being taken away without his knowledge. Will anyone believe what is going on?

If the Web site report is true, this clearly demonstrated the BN government’s negligence, inefficiency, filled with corrupt practice and bad governance procedure. The contract works is using the tax-payers’ money and it should not be thrown around like this without proper details.

Furthermore, who should be held responsible in all this mishaps? The clear answer is definitely the CM cum finance minister Datuk Musa Aman. In this case, even though he said to call for further investigation on the “serious leak of secret government contract details”, he is just doing a show to cover his fault and the misbehavior of his BN colleagues and mostly his ministers.

This happening in Sabah and Malaysia are already not something new, and these all boiled down to the ill system imposed by the BN government to negotiate and to directly award the government project works. So the case of the 16 Mega projects shared between the 42 companies as listed would not be something new, and how come CM said he did not know.

MACC should not take this case lightly and the people demand a thorough investigation, and MACC should not only do by sweeping the case underneath the carpets and forget about it. We want a detail report on the investigation made and published on all cases reported to the MACC. In the past, many cases had been reported and no result given on the investigation, and there are more so on cases related to the BN people.

Dr. Hiew wants the CM to explain why the government contracts can be easily be ‘awarded and taken’ by the companies associated with the people in the BN. There must be something seriously wrong when vital information started leaking out.

That worries him a lot because these might affect him as the Chief Minister cum Finance Minister. The public is saying that in fact he controlled all the government projects in Sabah, and all are surprised that he said he had no knowledge of these 16 Mega projects being taken by some quarters as posted in the Website.

That also indicated there is no transparency and failure in the BN government. It is about to throw them out and let Pakatan Rakyat to take over the government and managed with ‘TIGER’ policies to enhance a clean straight government without corruption and abuse of power.
