NEW VOTERS REGISTRATION FOR FT LABUAN

SABAH DAP is in the FT Labuan for the weekends to register new voters. Sabah DAP Chief, Dr. Hiew King Cheu and Member of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu said, it is very important that Malaysians become voters in order they can elect and have a choice of their respective representatives in the government.

According to the Election Commission office in Kota Kinabalu, more than 250,000 eligible Sabahans have not registered themselves as voters. Because of this, Sabah DAP has now more than 30 senior members registered with the Election Commission in Sabah as their Assistant Registrar for the Commission.

Dr. Hiew is very concerned about the lukewarm response of the younger generation towards becoming a voter. With the appointment of Assistant Registrars, Sabah DAP hopes to reach out to them. Today, I am so happy to see the good response from the people in Labuan.

The Sabah DAP mobile registration team has stationed itself at the Pasar Tani, Jalan Bunga Raya Labuan and successfully registered about 100 new voters. The team also assisted the general public to check on their voting status.

Also present during the voters registration exercise were Sabah DAP Vice Chairman Edward Ewol Mujie, Sabah DAP Publicity Secretary Dr. Edwin Bosi, Sabah DAP Labuan Chief Lau Seng Kiat, Sabah DAP Tuaran Chief Peter Liew, Sabah DAP KK Youth team with its Chief Junz Wong, Henry Wong, and Byran Wong.

Sabah DAP will continue to register new voters all over Sabah and those who have not registered please contact the DAP representatives and the offices in Sabah. The Labuan DAP chief can be contacted at 016 5848467.
