THE KK MP cum Sabah DAP Advisor Hiew King Cheu today together with 4 other senior DAP leaders, they are Vice Chairman, Edward Ewol Mujie, Tenom Liaison Chief Dr. Benjamin Yapp, the Kapayan Branch chairman Steven Jacob Jimbangan, and the Karambunai branch chairman John Lee Kim Seng performed the ‘eye doting/eye opening’ ceremony on the 5 new Lion Heads on behalf of the kind donors in aids of the Kian Kok High School building and activities fund.
The donors of the Lion heads were not available to perform the ceremony and had asked the Sabah DAP leaders to assist.
The Kian Kok principal, Lim Zain thanks the kind donors for making the donations for education. He said the middle needs more king donors like them and they have set a very good example.
The school is expanding fast and more building and classroom are needed to cater for the increasing student population. The annual event of organizing the Lion Troupe during the Chinese New Year celebration is necessary and the event can help the school to raise some money.
The Kian Kok Lion Troupe is organized by the teachers and the students themselves. All the performances are carried out by the students who have trained for quite sometime now. Their performance has reached a high level of skill and standard. They perform not only the Lion troupe but also the ‘Dragon Dance’ too.
Lim also requests all those who like to book the team to approach the school early, so that arrangement can be make to fit in their time table.
Also present to witness the ceremony were the SM Kian Kok school management board treasurer Tan Kim Min and the School supervisor Chieng Kiu Sii.
