HISHAMUDDIN MUST BE DEAF AND BLIND?

By: DAP MEDIA

DAP Sabah feels that Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishamudin Tun Hussein proposal to issue red birth certificate to foreigners who are born in Malaysia effective July 1st (2011) is one that indicates a lack of understanding of the needs of Malaysians in Sabah.

Junz Wong, DAP Sabah Assistant Secretary said to issue red birth certificates to foreigners is equivalent to recognizing and acknowledging them as second class citizen thus will only encourage more migration to Sabah even through illegal means.

Junz who is DAP Sabah KK Youth Chief added that DAP Sabah stand on illegal immigrant issue is very clear. We insist to set up Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to resolve this matter and also recommends Former Vice Chairman of Suhakam Tan Sri Simon Sipaun to head the Commission.

Junz said he finds it hard to believe that Hisham can continue to ignore Sabahan calls for RCI even coming from component parties of BN. Junz added that there could be a hidden agenda of the BN government for not establishing the RCI.

The Home Minister's claims that the Federal government is serious and is willing to accomodate to what Sabah needs is a ‘Wayang Kulit’ or shadow play only.

We are utterly disappointed with Hishammudin for failing the Sabahans. His idea to resolve the illegal immigrant problem is becoming more unrealistic by the day. We once again urge the Prime Minister to appoint a Native as Home Minister who can understand the needs and sentiments of Sabahans.
