PAIRIN AND JEFFREY MOTHER DIES



The mother of Sabah Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan died Saturday, March 12, of old age.

Datin Lucia Laimah Imbayan died at 6pm at the Keningau Hospital where she had been hospitalised since last month, his public relations secretary Basal Datuk Bullah said. She was 86.

She leaves behind 11 sons and seven daughters and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

"She was a devout Roman Catholic and a dedicated mother. She was humble and soft-spoken and the villagers, whether Christians or Muslims or of any other faith, looked up to her as someone warm, approachable and caring," Basal said.

Basal said that Pairin, her first born, helped her celebrate her birthday, which fell on Feb 25, while she was in hospital.(BERNAMA)
