DON’T MAKE KERONGGU ANOTHER GRAVEYARD

DANGEROUS…. The collapsed road section in Kg. Keronggu, Inanam.

By : DAP MEDIA

THE ROAD section in the Kg Keronggu, Inanam that was collapsed many months ago did not receive any repair by the authorities. There were simply some barricades erected to warn the drivers of the collapsed road section.

The Sabah DAP vice Chair Edward Ewol Mujie while visiting the kampongs was told by the kampong folks here about their concern on the collapsed road section. They said they couldn’t understand why the authorities did not come immediately to reconstruct the collapsed section and leaving it open and subjected to the water erosion from the small stream there.

The collapsed section is getting bigger and now half the road surface is gone. The authorities should come to rebuild the section of the road and divert the water flow of the small stream further away from the road. The collapse of the road is due to the water flow washing away the earth.

The work to be carried out is very simple and it requires only some trips of blocked stone to pile up to reform the road base. Edward said he couldn’t understand that why the authorities did not come to fix this up.

The cost of erecting the warning barricade is actually cost more than the cost of the few trips of blocked stones. It will not take weeks or months to repair the road so why keep on waiting.

This reflects the ineffectiveness and inefficiency of the government to help the people in every corner of Sabah. Why should we Sabahan have to face the bad roads every way? Do we deserve this type of treatment? The people we employed are not performing, and it is time that we should remove them and changed them for someone who can perform better.
