ROAD CLOSURE, A TYPICAL BN FAILURE

By : DAP MEDIA

THE ROAD outlet from Grand Millennium Plaza to the Penampang by-pass was suddenly closed by the JKR due to the road is outlet allegedly an illegal road outlet not approved by the authorities. This closure of the outlet had caused much inconvenient to the people here in the busy shopping area.

The only inlet and outlet to this plaza is usually jam packed with cars. The people here were very angry on the sudden closure by the authorities and had asked Sabah DAP for assistance to highlight their grievances and dismay, and to bring up their request to reopen the road outlet for the easy flow of traffic here.

The matter was brought up by the Sabah DAP Kapayan Branch Chief, Stephen Jimbangan with his branch members to the notice of the authorities.

The latest on the issue is that the authorities have viewed the situation as urgent, and have decided to reopen the metal barricade that cordoned off the road outlet.

The people present on site to discuss the issue were the Minister of Works and Infrastructure Development Tan Sri Pairin Kittingan and the Kapayan Assemblyman Datuk Edward Khoo, the Penampang District Officer William Sampil and other government officers. They concluded that the road outlet is necessary and needed to be reopened for the sake of smoother traffic flow in the Grand Millennium Plaza.

Stephen said that he was glad to hear about the belated decision made by the authorities on reopening the road outlet to easy the traffic jam in the busy shopping area here. He questioned that since this is the case why closed the road outlet in the first place.

There is so much public inconvenience caused and public fund wasted, now everything has to be dismantled. This only reflected the ill management of the BN government on their slackness, inconsiderate, bad planning and no consistency in their work.

We should put the people’s interest in the forefront and there should be minimum disturbance to their daily living. What is the use for the BN to keep on shouting ‘People First’ and yet the people are being treated as no body.

Don’t forget the people are the bosses of the elected members and the elected members are actually the ‘People’s Servant’. The elected members of BN think they are the King and sit on top of the people.

It turned round that the people-bosses have to beg for their services and usually they had been thrown with buckets of cold water. These types of bad elected members should be sacked from the management team (government) in Sabah and Malaysia.

The best time to do this is to exercise the people’s power during the next general election, and at the same time to elect a new team of good, hard working, uncorrupted, clean and caring elected members to replace the present BN.

Sabahan will face future problems if we continue to elect the BN people into power and this typical case has already reflected their incapability and low efficiency and effectiveness in dealing with the matters in Sabah. We must change otherwise Sabah will not have a bright future.
