FCAS MUST CLEAR ITS NAME

By : HENRY SHIM CHEE ON

GENERAL public felt that the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) has to clear its name, on the issue that its deputy youth chief Lim Kat Chung had hit on the KK MP Hiew King Cheu on the highly priced projects under the Ministry of Rural Development. It is with deep regret that FCAS had become a ‘political tool’.

Lim Kat Chung has not only brought shame to the federation and had disgrace the Chinese community. He had committed an offence directly or indirectly hurting the image of the Chinese community in Sabah, and exposed the FCAS to become an assocition without discipline and order.

Lim abused his position to openly critize the KK MP Hiew king Cheu on making a public call for the MACC to probe into some highly priced projects given out by the Ministry of Rural Development for 2011/2012. Hiew wanted a proper check whether there were any irregularities, and to check on any possible and alleged corrupt practices involvement.

The public supported very much on the call by the KK MP Hiew, and it is for public interest especially this is involving the people's money. It is also the right of the people to know on how their money being spent rightfully.

Lim's statement sounded as if he is supporting the corrupt government, and he wanted to tarnish the image of the KK MP Hiew. He had put up a statement in the newspaper to deny the previous statement issued by him.

He claimed that the first statement did not come from him, and he had no knowledge about it. He think he is smart to deny all this by simply saying that it is not his doing, but by right he should go and lodge a police report and ask the police to investigate on actually who e-mailed the press statement to the news paper for publication. The e-mail address will be a solid proof and usually newspaper will not simply publish a statement from unknown source.

It will be proper and right for the President of the Federation of Chinese Association sabah, Datuk Sari Tan to give an explanation on why the FCAS had issued such a defaming news statement, and should provide clarification on whether the FCAS is politically registered with the Registrar of Society (ROS) or not.

If not, what action is he going to take? We want FCAS to be creditable and entrusted by the members. As the President of the FCAS, Datuk Sari Tan is responsible, and must work hard to bring back the good name of the FCAS.

Our country is fully of corruption everywhere and every day, what is wrong with MP Hiew to fight corruptions? This is his duty and infact Lim should come to help MP Hiew to fight corruption and not criticizing and sabotaging him. He will need to do further to prove that he is clean and need to clear his name and most important the name of the FCAS.

We say no more, but the people of Sabah are waiting to see what the FCAS has to say. A farourable explanation is required.
