WHY ASKING ANWAR TO GIVE ASSURANCE?

By : DR NICHOLAS JAMES GUNTOBON

THE STATEMENT by BN MP for Kota Belud, Rahman Dahlan, asking for an assurance by opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim that Sabah would not get less than it gets under a BN Federal government is alike to BN already conceding defeat in the coming general election.

I wonder if Rahman's statement which came out in Borneo Post yesterday is reflective of CM Musa Aman's stand or even the Sabah BN of which Rahman is its secretary.

Having said that, the people of Kota Belud and elsewhere must realise that this is the kind of leadership UMNO has. I wonder if Musa disagrees with me. Or does Salleh Said Keruak agree to Rahman on this? One cannot simply just speak for the sake of speaking, and this one is a classic example. We will hear more of UMNO antics as the general election closes in.

It could be said it is typical of one who had been spoon-fed who would not make things happen for Sabah but rather just waits, speaks and asks those who are coming to power to give something out of nothing laboured for the people actually.

While it is heartening to note that a state BN secretary could make such a daring conceding statement, i wished Rahman has more guts to request the ruling party under PM Najib Razak to give even more allocations to Sabah and Kota Belud rather than asking for an assurance from a rival, an alternative Pakatan Rakyat or UMNO-whacking Anwar.

Or is Rahman sending signal that he would switch party if he is not renominated in Kota Belud ? This must have tickled Musa and Najib. It is an open secret though that Rahman, from Tuaran, being the MP in Kota Belud has become increasingly untenable ahead of the GE as KB local boys are yearning for a local to represent them.

  2. Jika Anwar tidak mampu ataupun enggan menjawabnya, buat apa rakyat mahu mempercayakan beliau?

  4. Would the increase of the oil royalty would have on the federal budget allocation to Sabah since Sabah do enjoy up to this point the highest allocation?

  5. Bottom line is: The opposition MUST answer this very staight forward question. Insinuating DARD's intention does not answer this question. As posed within this article.

  10. Bila ada persoalan timbul, lebih elok jika dapat dijawab. Rakyat pun mahu juga tahu apa resolusi yang Anwar ada.
