KDM STARTS A NAJIB LOYALTY CLUB

Oleh : ALEX ONG

A Najib Razak Club (NRC) has been set up to show support for the Prime Minister, according to Penampang Umno Divisional Chief Datuk John Ambrose, yesterday.

Ambrose said the Club expected to be launched by Chief Minister-cum-State BN Chairman Datuk Seri Musa Hj Aman end of this month, was mooted by several division heads.

The club would meet soon to elect its office bearers and outline its programmes. lt would be open to all Malaysians in Sabah regardless of age, religious and racial backgrounds before expanding to the peninsula.

"We will be going for a mass registration exercise statewide soon before Musa launches it," he said, adding that the Club’s Protem Committee would liase with the divisional leaders of the various BN component parties for the purpose.

Asked for the rationale behind its setting up since there was already the KDM Malaysia movement and prior to that an Umno KDM Task Force, both of which he headed, he said:

“We felt there is a need to be fully behind Prime Minister Daruk Seri Najib Tun Razak in his push to transform the country and unite the people. Najib has stressed it very clear during his visit here that BN will no show no compromise to those who are disloyal. As such, having this club to show loyalty to him is important to show our appreciation for what he has done for the country and people.

"At the same time, it is also to support him to continue leading the country as the Prime Minister. Najib has done much for the people and country, such as introducing the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BRIM), RM100 for schoolchildren and RM200 book vouchers for students and many more.

"The commitment-shown by our Prime Minister in developing our country and at the same time care for the wellbeing of Malaysians, regardless of their race and religion, deserves our support," he said.

He did not say whether the newly set up NRC would mean that he would abandon KDM Malaysia which incurred hostility from KDM-majoirity BN components in Sabah such as PBS and Upko.

Both parties accused KDM Malaysia of trying to undermine Kadazandusun-Murut support for their respective parties.

Ambrose said Najib‘s concern for the people can be seen from his walkabouts in various parts of the country as well as mixing with people from all walks of life.

"This is the kind of Prime Minister, the peoples PM, that we need and we should be loyal to him so that he can do more good for the people and country. His 1Malaysia concept and People First, Performance Now slogan shows how much he cares for the country and people," he said.

Ambrose said the newly formed club will among others, organise gotong-royong and programmes in various parts of the State and at the same time inform the people of the Prime Minister’s concept and good work as well as that of the BN Government.

"Spreading of such information will enable the people to realise that it is only the BN government under Najib that will be able develop the state and country, " he said.

Ambrose said during such visits, the Club will also be able to assist the people by bringing their problems to the relevant authorities to be solved and if need be, directly to the Prime Minister.

He said the Club is the midst of setting up its web page so that its members and the public can access it easily for information, especially those related to the Prime Minister.

“lt will also be linked to Najib's 1Malaysia web page," he said, Among the programmes planned would be high-tea events occasionally between the Prime Minister and his loyalists (club members). (DE)
