LOCAL HIP-HOP STAR GETS BAIL IN RAPE CASE

By : NOORSILA ABD MAJID

A MALAYSIAN singer, who was arrested for allegedly raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter, is out on police bail.

According to Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah, the police are waiting for chemist report, DNA test and blood sample before proceeding with the case.

"We will submit them to the DPP for further instruction," Abdul Rahim tells The Daily Chilli. "The whole process will take about a month."

The 37-year-old singer, who is part of a top Malaysian R&B and hip-hop band, cannot be named to protect the child's identity.

He was picked up at his house in Gombak Jaya on Feb 19 after his step-daughter lodged a police report at the Gombak police station on Feb 18, reported Harian Metro.

But singer/actor Mohamad Faizal Mohd Ali, 38, or better known as Wan Shades (of the `90s pop-rock band Shades) has publicly denied that he is the suspected rapist.

Our police source has confirmed that the man in question is not Wan Shades.
