THIEF STEALS FIVE COFFINS FROM SHOP

A BUSINESS believed to be immune to theft is no longer safe. A coffin shop in Bo'ai of Henan province in China was broken into last Saturday night.

The thief dug a hole in the wall and escaped with five coffins worth some 3,000 yuan (RM1,434).

Shop owner, known only as Li, said he found the coffins missing after he opened the shop for business at about 8am on Sunday.

"I have nine ready-made coffins in the shop but five of them were missing and there's a big hole in the wall," he said.

Li said the coffins each weighed about 30kg and can be lifted by only one person.

He was puzzled by the motive of the thief as the coffins are big, and are not something that can be hidden or sold easily. He has lodged a police report. (Xinhua)
