THE BODY of a six-year-old local was recovered some 150 feet from where he was believed to have fallen into a monsoon drain near Taman Sempelang, Sembulan, Friday.
Police received a distress call at 4.30pm from a 15-year-old boy who suspected something amiss when he spotted a pair of school shoes near the pipe which leads to the monsoon drain.
According to Sub-Inspector Samad Sumadi from the Tanjung Aru police station, they alerted the Sembulan Fire and Rescue Department.
The victim was believed staying with relatives at the residential area while both parents were at work.
