A sequel to The Avengers is
already in the works, according to Disney. Studio execs confirmed that the
Marvel superhero film, which opened to a record-breaking $200mil (RM614mil) in
the US box office, will receive another instalment.
"The success of The
Avengers is a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much," said Disney
CEO Bob Iger, reports Deadline.
The Avengers features an
all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson,
Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner.
Director Joss Whedon
recently said that people are all isolated like the characters in The Avengers,
who luckily work out their problems by collaborating.
Whedon has also announced
plans to adapt The Astonishing X-Men as a novel series. (Digital Spy)
