GIVE UP ALREADY, SHAFIE TELLS ANWAR

TRUST.....Shafie said Najib commanded more trust than Anwar.

KOTA MARUDU : Umno vice president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said today Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should retire from politics immediately and not wait until after the next general election.

Mohd Shafie, who is rural and regional development minister, said Anwar should realise that it is difficult for the opposition to achieve a major victory in the 13th general election.

“I believe the people in this country are not dependent on only one person to champion their future. I am convinced Malaysians, especially those in Sabah, trust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak more than Anwar.

“Anwar does not have a proper plan like what Najib has worked out,” he told reporters after launching the state-level “Moginakan Kimaragang” carnival organised by the United Sabah Kimaragang Association in Ulu Bengkoka, about 30km from here.

He was asked to comment on a Financial Times report last Tuesday quoting Anwar as indicating he would retire from politics and go back to teaching if Pakatan Rakyat were defeated in the next general election.

Mohd Shafie said the rural people, particularly in Sabah, were convinced that Najib could take care of them better than the opposition parties which were facing various problems, like in Selangor and Kelantan.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) government could bring continued development to the people, especially the rural community, by providing various basic amenities and infrastructure, he said. (Bernama)

  11. Jika kita lihat pun sejarah Anwar semasa menjadi TPM memang sangat teruk sekali.
