800 PARKING LOTS IN TANJONG ARU BEACH IN A MESS

A SITE VISIT had been carried out by Special Assistant to KK MP, Andrew Lee and Robert Rajah at Tanjung Aru. To our surprise, we spotted a sign board, it says 800 parking bays.

But as a matter a fact, it doesn't appear to be a parking space at all. The surrounding areas are covered with mud and polls of water all over. How can this be a parking space? We were made to understand by an individual who operates a food stall at beach II, that this so called parking space is managed by DBKK.

If that is true, It is shameful that this is happening where by the relevant authorities are not effective, and all facilities are not being managed well. This appears to be a job half done, and neglected by the city hall.

Tanjung Aru Beach is a tourist attraction area not only to locals but also to foreign tourists. The city hall (DBKK) must provide proper basic facilities for the public such as clean wash rooms, proper parking bays, information center, and good children playground. At the moment the many big tour buses have to drop off the tourist by the road side and park by the road side by jamming the road.

Sabah DAP urges DBKK to ensure that the repair jobs are carried out on this mentioned parking space as soon as possible for the comfort and convenience of the tourists and the public. Andrew also urges DBKK to carry out repair works at the Prince Philip Park.

When night falls, the park falls to total darkness due to dysfunctional outdoor garden lights. It has been out of order for a long time now and it is about time DBKK do something about it. The park is considered unsafe and it attracts drug addicts and certain individual who carries out immoral activities at the park.

We all hope the Mayor himself carries out his inspections around and take action.
