special children from schools throughout Sabah joined the Head of State, Tun
Juhar Muhyiddin, and his wife, Norlidah Jasni, at a tea party held in
conjunction with his official birthday.
Director
of Sabah’s Welfare Services Department, Ithong @ Etong Terang said this event
is an annual highlight which the children look forward to eagerly. The event
reflects the government’s love care for the children with special needs, he
said.
Masnih
Abidin, a 25 year-old trainee at PDK Beaufort, seized the opportunity to join
the party. She sang her rendition of a song that was made popular by Indonesian
singer, Hetty Koes Endang, entitled “Tak Ingin Aku Sendiri” during the event.
Despite
it being her first time attending the event Masnih declared, “I wasn’t nervous
at all. I have loved singing since I was young and it makes me extremely happy
to be able to sing before our Head of State on his birthday.” (Insight Sabah)
