THE
PEOPLE from Putatan paid a courtesy call to Andrew Lee Chee kiong, the Special
Assistant to Kota Kinabalu MP Hiew king Cheu, and they complained about the bad
management by Majlis Daerah Putatan.
One
of the issues were the RM500,000 performance stage which is located in front of
the main road from Kinarut to Putatan and opposite the Lok Kawi Army Camp.
The
performance stage have been left unattended for several years now. Andrew was
made to understand that only one event was held there by one of the elected
representative from the BN government.
The
condition of the stage is bad and so 'shameful' that the Putatan council should
come to maintain it immediately. The people also asked, in the first place, is
this stage necessary? It is such a waste of the public fund. The government
built it and yet how many people use it.
Another
issue was brought up in regards to the eight food stalls food just beside the
stage. He was told that the food stalls
which are being managed by Majlis Daerah Putatan has been closed for a number
of years now. The Putatan Council is renting out the open to mobile operators from outside.
The
complainant is just wondering how this could happen? The Majlis Daerah Putatan
is very unprofessional and unreliable. In order to put tax payers money to good
use and to benefit the people, the government and all local council should and
must plan well in order not to make mistakes.
Sabah
DAP urges all relevant authorities to look into this matter seriously as it
involved public fund. Majlis Daerah Putatan is urged to be more sensitive and
to carry out their duties well towards the public.
