MAYOR SHOULD INVESTIGATE COLLAPSES ALLEGATION

DAP SABAH was shocked to find out that workers' safety has continued to be neglected at the collapsed site on Likas Bay 21 development since 28 August 2012.

Junz Wong DAP Sabah state assistant secretary expressed his concerns on public safety saying that that was irresponsible.

"Why workers are allowed to continue to work on a collapsed site which has been told that it has design failure?!

There is no investigation done nor any declaration that the project site is safe. No one knows to what extent has design failure affected the whole building. There is very worrying to public especially the purchasers!"

"30 Sept last Sunday I passed by to take a look and was shocked to find out that construction works in full swing pouring mixed concrete." Junz said the cronology as stated below;

28 August - collapsed was made public
3 Sept - form works were installed, workers continued to work to remove the rest of the damaged concrete floor slab on the collapsed site
30 Sept - pouring concrete
5 Oct - confirmed that works have continued as photo seen above.

"Since DOSH (Department Occupational Safety & Health) & CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) have failed to act, it is the social and moral responsibilities of DBKK Dato Mayor to ensure public safety is ensured at all times." Junz said.

DAP Sabah called for Dato Mayor to step in and issue 'STOP-WORK' permit to make an immediate investigation on this collapsed allegation.

"Purchasers need to know that the building is safe for occupation," Junz concluded
