KG MERUNTUM, LOK KAWI STILL SQUATTERS?

THE Sabah DAP paid a visit to the Kampong Meruntum in Lok Kawi which is directly opposite the Lok Kawi Arm Force Camp near the beach. There are some 100 over houses here and the people had been staying here more then 12 years. The people were surprise to see the KK MP Hiew King Cheu and the DAP leaders appearing in their village here.

The residents welcome the arrival of the DAP visiting team and they are happy to talk the the DAP leaders to exchange views together with some complaints which they had long keeping in their minds.

Kampong is situated on the Lok Kawi beach which is very nice and quiet, but the only problems is that there is no land titles and they are staying here fearing that the government will take back the land and they have heard that some people is applying the land here and want to turn this into a holiday resort.

The walkabout in the kampong saw many houses and foot bridges are in very poor stage and near collapse. The only bright sight is that every house had a blue Barisan Nasional (BN) flag.

The villagers told KK MP Hiew King Cheu that it is no worry even though there are blue flags every way here, the BN will not be sure that the people will choose them or elect them. In fact it is true that during the walkabout there are different views and opinions that the people shared with Hiew and Edward Ewol Mujie.

MP Hiew was surprised to notice that the people knows so much about the ROCKET (DAP) in this remote kampong, and some even knew who he is. This is a consolation that proved the hard work of the DAPs are being recognized and accepted. It gives the DAPs more encouragement to work harder for the people.

The people said the have adopted the spirit of “UBAH, Tukar and INI KALI LAH”! They too want to change their 'manager' after listening to the quick words from the KK MP Hiew. Hiew explained the importance of electing a 'good manager' who cares for his bosses in the area, and not a manager who is corrupt, stealing from the people, and is not working hard to help his bosses.

If this is in the case similar to a company, the company will go bankrupt easily. So if Sabah is a big company, and its managers are not doing the right thing, then it will go bankrupt too.

That’s why Sabah is among the poorest state in Malaysia in spite of its rich natural resources, sea and huge land bank. The bad managers had dropped Sabah from the richest state to the poorest state, and this every Sabahan can tell.

The BN promises are not being fulfilled and these every one knows too. The Kg Meruntum is just a typical example. When general election is coming the people will be thrown with goodies, beautiful promises, and great hopes. This is typical of BN, for PR we only promise that we will work hard when we form the new government. (DAP Media)
