PBS HANDS OVER EVIDENCE TO RCI

KOTA KINABALU : Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) represented by its Vice-President Datuk Radin Malleh today handed over evidence to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on Illegal Immigrants in Sabah at its investigation team’s office at Wisma Dang Bandang here.

Met by reporters outside the office, he said the evidence was mainly based on Malaysian identity cards possessed by illegal immigrants and identity cards that had yet to be issued to illegal immigrants who had registered for them.

He said the evidence was compiled in five sets of manuscripts, of which three volumes contained 73,983 names of illegal immigrants who had allegedly obtained Malaysian identity cards.

“A lot of foreigners who are in Sabah illegally have obtained identity cards which are genuine but with false particulars,” he said.

The commission held its first meeting last Nov 1 at the Kota Kinabalu High Court conference room, chaired by former Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Steve Shim Lip Kiong. (Bernama)
