MUSA REMINDS ADUN TO SERVE THE PEOPLE

KOTA KINABALU : A Special meeting with the Barisan Nasional (BN) elected State Assemblymen was held yesterday at the State Assembly building in Likas, Kota Kinabalu. In the meeting Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman reminded all BN ADUN to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the mandate given by the people.

"As the representatives of the people, we have to serve the people.

"This is a great trust given to us by the people and they expect us to always go down to the ground to assist them when they need help ," he said.

Musa also wants the elected representatives to provide information about the development brought by the government and to defend the government against the ‘accusations and slanders’ thrown by the opposition.

"This is important so that people would not be misinformed, especially about government leaders and the development agenda of the government," he said.

Referring to the opening of the new Sabah State Assembly the Chief Minister  said he hoped that the State Legislative Assembly sitting will be held in a  healthy and constructive atmosphere and not one marred by acrimonious accusations and defamatory statements. (Insight Sabah)

  7. Yesterday, Musa led his State Cabinet Ministers and their deputies as well as others in the swearing-in ceremony.

    Also sworn-in before Assembly Speaker Datuk Salleh Tun Said were the 12 elected representatives from the opposition.

  8. Head of State Tun Haji Juhar Haji Mahiruddin will open the Assembly sitting this coming Monday at 9.30am.

    The debates will be held from June 18 till 19 while the winding up on June 20.

    Sabah Barisan Nasional won 48 of the 60 state seats and 22 of the 25 parliamentary seats at the recently- concluded 13th general election.
