Hi media frens,
This is details of today PC held at DAP HQ. Please forgive me for not being able to write it in proper manner for statement release. Please help publish these issues :
1) MOTION TO REVIEW CABOTAGE
Will be tabling a motion to seek collective supports from all Sabah YBs and hopefully MPs to push for a review of Cabotage policy to cope with high living costs in Sabah in next Dewan sitting. Since MP Putatan was vocal in disagreeing with Cabotage policy in Parliament, I hope YBs from UPKO will be vocal and support my motion!
Do it when n where it matters, being vocal in newspaper is really pointless. UPKO YBs either seek table in State Assembly or Parliament to mean that they are serious about removing Cabotage Policy. I salute MP Putatan but it ain't good enough.
Sabahans must help ourselves so it's important for Sabah YBs regardless of our political stands to unite and call for a review on Cabotage policy which has been plaguing Sabahans for at least 30 years.
Challenge MP UPKO
I can guarantee all here that Pakatan MPs will sure support for the Cabotage policy to be abolished or at least reviewed.
But we haven't got the numbers, can MP from UPKO table a motion in Parliament to call for Cabotage policy to be abolished?
State Assembly should allow me to table Motion on Cabota ge Policy to debate why this policy must be reviewed. This debate will allow in-depth study - technicality with statistics & figures to justify the call for policy review!
2) Why Mayor claims no fund to upgrade parking facilities while Musa claims no need for more federal funds via 20% oil royalty?
Mayor claimed waiting fund to be arrived by 2014 when parking problem is long overdue issue burdening car users every day. Apparently there r only less than 18,000 parking slots in city areas. If there is no fund available, Musa should reconsider 20% royalty claim.
3) Whats d reason why Tourism famous spots such as Klias River & Sapi island etc has started to charge fees per entry? This has burdened tourism industry players?
Sapi Island poorly maintained.
The conservation fees actually quite expensive
Malaysian RM3 Non-Malaysian RM10
BBQ fee RM5 per person
Klias River charges issue;
I'm not sure if Weston or Garama also kena.
RM5 for Adult, RM3 for child.
Why don't they do this at other areas or Hutan Simpan?!?
4) Push for the need to have a comprehensive development master blueprint for future developments and get participations from all parties via residents or stakeholders, government & NGOs before executing state projects with comprehensive details with transparency and accountability, giving chance for public to get involved / take part in decision making process on projects or developments which will affect them in their future.
Allow me to quote Tan Sri Sipaun's quote as well... Good governance should be participatory and consensus oriented
