MASJID AL-AMAN NOT REALLY ‘AMAN’?

VISIT… Dr: Felix Chong and Edward in front of the Masjid Al-Aman Sinsuran

THE Masjid Al-Aman in Sinsuran Kota Kinabalu is needed attention especially to the leaking roof. This was the complaint received by the Sabah DAP during their walk about conducted recently in the Sinsuran and KK central market. The DAP leaders were Dr. Felix Chong Kat Fah, Edward Ewol Mujie and the KK MP Hiew King Cheu with other members.

The Masjid Al-Aman is in the KK Sinsuran sea front next to the Philippine market, and it is frequently used by the people working in the central market and some from the opposite island.

This is a crowded Masjid during prayer times and very unfortunately their requests were not heard and no action has been taken. They requested the DAP to highlight the issue and hope that when DAP voiced out this the authorities will listen and take immediate action to replace the leaking roof. Dr. Felix went and inspected the Masjid, after asking around and checked the condition of the roof from outside, found out that the complaint is valid.

The people here told Dr. Felix that they have difficulties to find a place where the leaking water would not fall on to them. They worry if the situation is not put right, it will be more difficult for them to do their daily prayers when it rains.

Dr. Felix hopes the authorities will come to help to repair or change the roof sheets as soon as possible to enable the Muslim friends can have a place to do their prayers without getting wet.

This is a simple job indeed and it is not that costly. If the government can spend so much money to do so many unnecessary projects, why can’t they help the people here to solve their problem even in worshipping and in their daily prayers?

There are many other things that also needed upgrading especially on the cleanliness of the night market here. The pavement and walkway also needed upgrading and cleaning. This area must be given a face lift because our tourists also come here frequently.
