DAP SABAH AGAINST 1MSIA STORES

By : DAP MEDIA

DAP Sabah call for the BN Government to reconsider its decision to have a nationwide 1Malaysia chain stores. Junz Wong, DAP Sabah state assistant secretary, expressed has some concern on this project.

First, he was shocked to find out that 1Malaysia stores can offer a retailing prices 40% cheaper than the normal stores. The government owes the business community an explain on how these 1Malaysia stores can afford to offer such incredibly low prices, he added.

Junz said he is not convince that the sources of supply has given 1Malaysia stores such advantages. Would it be from the public fund in the form of subsidies that have given 1Malaysia stores this competitive advantage, he asked?

If that was the case, then 1Malaysia store concept is basically to ‘destroy’ others and allowing a favored few to flourish using the people money. This is very unethical, he added.

Junz Wong who is also KK parliament Youth Chief said that the government of the day is supposed to protect and safeguard the interests of the people including the private business sector. With its hand in the 1Malaysia stores the government has directly involved itself as a player in the market.

BN Government (1Malaysia stores) will compete with the private sector and this is not healthy for the economy. Eventually, with the political advantages, 1Malaysia stores will monopolize the market causing imbalances in the economy and many of the big chain stores and smaller players will close down their businesses.

Junz Wong urged the BN government to come clean with 1Malaysia stores. This is not helping the people and Malaysia economy in the long run, Junz concluded.

  1. This move simply shows that our government is slapping their own face with their own hands. Bringing up something that they think it is useful to the nation (rakyat) but actually they (the government doesn't really understands us at all. In the photos shows our Prime Minister holding up the rice pack but did he ever eat the same rice as what the nation consumes???? I don't think so. 1 Malaysia shop? Our government don't even understands the very basic rules of supply and demands in ecomomics, I doubt... really doubt how are they going to take care of our country. God Bless Malaysia.
