DIRTY….Edward Mujie and Alex Wong showing the dirty road sides filled with rubbish.

THE Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Hiew King Cheu, Sabah DAP State Vice Chairman Edward Ewol Mujie and Kudat branch chief Alexander Wong was brought to the Mile 8 Jalan Labuk central market to personally observe the dirty condition of the market surrounding. This is part of his round the state visit to all parts of Sabah.

It is surprisingly to see that the surrounding of the central market is so dirty and filled with rubbish every where, on the road, on the pavements and behind the market on the grass. The roads are so dirty which has a layer of smelly greenish mud by the side. There are many pot-holes on the road. The drain covers on the pavements are broken in many places and some had fallen into the drains.

The illegal cigarette selling activity is so openly done and in big numbers too. The illegal cigarettes are being hidden in the upstairs eateries cooking exhaust ducts in big quantities. This was observed by the KK MP Hiew himself. He had taken some photos for evidence and reference.

Hiew had informed the President of the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) Datuk James Wong through the phone concerning the situation in the market and he urged Datuk James to take immediate action to clear and clean up the market surrounding. The illegal cigarette sellers must be stopped and Hiew said he will contact the Custom office to check why there is so many smuggled cigarettes for sell in Sandakan and in big quantity too.
