SAPP youths were assaulted by a group of unidentified men, believed to be foreigners, while carrying out signature campaign to press the Federal Government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate and to resolve the problems of the Illegal Immigrants in Sabah.
SAPP Youth Chief Edward Dagul said the incident showed the degree of seriousness of the problems here, which termed by many as the ‘Mother of All Problems’.
“Friday night incident at Kampung Hungab in Penampang, near here, has made us more determined than ever to continue the struggle. Why should we be intimidated in our own homeland?
“In order to show our determination, we urge all concerned to step up the drive in order to achieve the original target set. However, one needs to be extra vigilant in the course of petitioning these signatures. Illegal immigrants problems is the number one threat to our sovereignity and national security and that is why we carry out the signature drives,” he said.
He said a police report was immediately lodged by the victims at the Penampang District Police Station.
According to him, illegal immigrants threat were made more serious in view of the recent self proclaimed Sultan of Sulu, in Likas, here, by Datu Akjan, who happened to be an UMNO member.
Dagul said the fact that the coronation ceremony was held in the State was a direct insult to the Yang Di Pertuan Agong and Sultans as well as Sabah’s TYT.
He said despite challenges faced by SAPP Youths, the campaign, which was started on 18 February has so far collected around 50,000 signatures from all around the State.
He added that the campaign is targetting to collect some 100,000 signatures by 21 March.
Dagul who is also SAPP Vice President also urged Sabahans who loves their own State to come forward and put down their signatures in support of the campaign, which aimed to safeguard the future of the young generations here.
This is another reason that we should drive out the illegals.
ReplyDeleteMost of them are indeed the mother of all threats.
ReplyDeletethis is why we should drive out all the illegals immigrant in sabah..those PATI are barbarian..
