DRAIN OR SEWERAGE IN TAMAN PERMAI?

ROOTS….Drain wall built sitting on tree roots.

SABAH DAP KK MP, Hiew King Cheu, Edward Ewol Mujie and members were brought in to assist to highlight the various infrastructure problems here which needed urgent attention from the DBKK.

Among the various matters arising here are the drainage blockages in some of the drains which needed clearing by the DBKK. The DBKK drain supervisor was with the group going round the housing estate to check on the various problem arising.

One of the back lane drain is overgrown with thick vegetation and inaccessible to cleaning, and the other drain next to the foot ball field is so badly constructed that one cannot believe that the concrete wall is actually sitting on the big root of the tree. What is the use in constructing the drain wall like that, and it is near to a child’s work?

There are water lodged drains in most places where mosquitoes are breeding fast. The main drain along the road side is filled with vegetations and blocked at many places. The worst part is that a sewerage manhole is discharging its foul water into the drain which caused pollution and foul smell all over the place.

BLOCK….. Vegetation blocking back lane drain.

“This has affected the houses here”, claimed one Mr. Lee who lives just next to the foul drain.

The sewerage treatment plant here usually emitting foul smell, the resident said that this has affected their living and this has created an unhealthy environment in Taman Permai. They want the DBKK to check whether there is any problem with the treatment plant or it is broken down already.

Hiew urges the DBKK to come immediately to help to put things right here. It is not much work involved, but definitely will help the people here to enjoy a better living here in Taman Permai. They should be provided with a clean and healthy condition of living and not to face garbage and foul smell every day.

There is also a need to see whether the traffic flows here to be altered to suit the increasing numbers of cars due to the shop houses are completed and the supermarket is in full business. The road system is indeed needed some attention to avoid confusion of the drivers.
