20 SENIOR POLICE OFFICERS PROMOTED

KUALA LUMPUR : Deputy Director of Management (Training), Bukit Aman Management Department, Datuk Abd Rahim Hanafi had been appointed as the new Chief Police Officer of Penang effective last Friday.

He succeeded Datuk Ayub Yaakob who had been appointed as the Head of the National Key Result Area (NKRA) Secretariat, Bukit Aman specifically to tackle national security issues, according to a statement from the Assistant Head of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Secretariat (Public Relations) Bukit Aman, ACP Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf, here.

Ramli said the Deputy Head of the IGP Secretariat (Religion & Counselling) Bukit Aman, Datuk Dr Hasim Haron had been appointed as the Johor CID Chief, succeeding Datuk Amer Awal who had moved to Bukti Aman as the Deputy Director (II) (Administration), Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDN/KA).

Dr Hasim was succeeded by the Penang CID Chief, SAC Zahruddin Abdullah, while Zahruddin was succeeded by the Assistant Director of Training (Examinations/PTK), Training Division, Bukit Aman Management Department, ACP Mazlan Kesah who had been made Acting SAC.

Mazlan would be succeeded by Supt Ooi Kee Lin from the Forensic Science Studies Unit, Royal Malaysia Police College with the rank of Acting ACP, the statement said.

Ramli said Dang Wangi District Police Chief (OCPD), ACP Mohamad Zulkarnain Abd Rahman had swapped places with the Principal Assistant Director (D3), CID Inspectorate, Bukit Aman, ACP Zainuddin Ahmad while the Investigations ACP, Commercial CID Bukit Aman, ACP Wong Lai Loong had been promoted as Principal Assistant Director of Investigations (Cyber/Multimedia) Commercial CID Bukit Aman, with the rank of Acting SAC.

Principal Assistant Director (Secretariat), KDN/KA Department, Bukit Aman, ACP Abdul Rahman Ibrahim had swapped places with Seberang Prai Utara OCPD, ACP Zulkifli Alias while Kota Kinabalu OCPD, ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria had moved to the Quality Management Section (2) ACP, IGP Secretariat (Research and Development), Bukit Aman. The Head of Commercial CID, Sabah, Supt Jauteh Dikun had been made Kota Kinabalu OCPD with the rank of ACP.

The statement said the OCPD of Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, Supt Jaafar Baba was promoted as the OCPD of Manjong, Perak with the rank of Acting ACP, while the Staff Officer of Intelligence/Gerakan Unit 69 Komando, Supt Fisol Salleh was promoted as Staff Officer of Pasukan Gerakan Khas, Bukit Aman with the rank of Acting ACP.

The Assistant Director of Logistics (Operations/Technical) C4i Unit, Communications Division, Bukit Aman Logistics Department, Supt Suhaimi Ismail was promoted as Assistant Director of Communications (Rmpnet) of the Communications Department, Logistics Department, Bukit Aman with the rank of Acting ACP.

Head of the Perak Management Department, ACP Zulkapli Ahmad had been promoted as Acting SAC but holding the same post.

Also promoted to Acting ACP were Kuala Kangsar OCPD, Perak, Supt Abd Ghaffar Muhamad, Group Welfare Officer, Management Department, Bukit Aman, Supt Sharifah Hawariah Syed Idrus, Serdang OCPD, Selangor, Supt Abd Razak Elias and Klang Utara OCPD, Selangor, Supt Mohamad Shukor Sulong. (Bernama)
