KG. MINIGOT BAMBANGAN ROAD SUBMERGED

THE RESIDENTS living in Kg Minigot, Bambangan, Inanam are not at all happy about the condition of the access road connecting from the main road to their kampong here.

They filed their complaints to the Sabah DAP KKMP Inanam office concerning the flooded condition of the access road that is serving many houses here. They said when ever it rains the road would be submerged in a few feet of muddy water, and usually they can't get home if the water is too deep.

They have seek help from the authorities but received no action. The local assemblyman and Member of Parliament were informed but similarly there is no action taken.

Edward Ewol Mujie, the Sabah DAP bureau chief of Local Government and housing immediately went on site to investigate the problem and the cause of the flood. To his surprise he found the drains here are no longer functioning due to the heavy silting up from certain earth works carrying out on the hill behind.

The level of the drains is now even higher than the road surface, and the road has become the drain instead. He said this is unacceptable because it is causing a lot of inconvenience to the people here. The drains here have not been cleared or upgraded for a long time now.

He also asked where has the YB fund being spent to, and in actual fact there are millions of Ringgits of YB fund to be spent here from the State and Parliament, but how come such a small drain cleaning job still can't be sorted out. The people told him that the YB can arrange excavator to do the job, but the people will have to pay for the cost.

Edward reminds the YBs better perform and it is their duty to serve the people. He said he will contact the DBKK and other authorities to find ways to resolve the problem here. The earth work contractor up on the hill behind the kampong should take up the responsibility to come to clean up the earth from the drains too.
