THE SABAH State Cabinet
Members is asked to declare publicly their individual assets in order to
demonstrate their creditability, accountability and transparency towards clean
and honest governance in Sabah. It is of known fact that politicians usually
got rich fast when they are in power.
The Sabah DAP State Advisor
cum KK MP Hiew King Cheu today made the call by saying that it is only right
for them in the Sabah State Cabinet to make such public declaration to show
that they are clean and did not involve in any unruly act and abuse of power to
harness wealth. Many people had expressed their opinions that this move is
essential to ensure a good clean and uncorrupt governance of the state.
MP Hiew further elaborated
that the declaration of individual assets must be an audited statement of
account by an independent public certified auditor to check and certify the
correctness of the assets declared.
This had been carried out by
the Penang State Government and each and every state cabinet member had made
their declaration publicly without any problem, and of course these are
certified declarations done through public auditors.
In Sabah the Chief Minister
Datuk Musa Aman should lead his cabinet to make such declaration before the
next general election and it is timely to declare themselves to the people of
Sabah.
The people have the right to
know whether their elected representatives are creditable, accountable and
transparent or not. This is the time for the handing out of report cards and
this is the easiest way of showing and demonstrating their standing that
whether they have not been corrupted and cheating the people.
In Sabah, we are in urgent
need of a group of new, clean and straight politician to run the state. They
must practice clean politic and without any though and do’s connected to
self-benefits and personal gains.
The elected representatives
are actually the employees of the people, and they are also classified as
“Public Servants”. They received their pay and allowances from the people, and
their duty is to serve the people well.
By right they are not to be
high and mighty, and not to be called “The Honorable” or “Yang Berhomat”! This
is wrong in the way, and it had been twisted to make the people feeling low and
voiceless.
KK MP Hiew said that CM
Datuk Musa should declare his assets and let the people know his total updated
assets value. He should have no problem in making the said declaration because
he had declared the same when he first became the Sabah Chief Minister in 2004.
His previous declaration, if not remembered wrong, was around RM700 million.
tidak payah layan ni DAP...
ReplyDeleteDAP knew they will be sent back to Semenanjung after the next general elections.
DeleteHiew should declare his assets as well.
DeleteDAP perlu lakukan terlebih dahulu.
DeleteGood idea too.
DeleteDAP jangan banyak cakap lahh...
DeleteBetul2. Jangan layan DAP..
Deletetumpukan perhatian pada perkara yang lebih penting..
ReplyDeleteThis question again? So sickening.
ReplyDeleteDAP must have nothing better to do anymore. If they wanted the State Cabinet to declare assets, they should do it first.
Deletesabah-go-green.blogspot.com
Then DAP should declare their assets too. You have to make the first move after all.
DeleteHiew King Ceu is the one who propose an declaration of assets, he should lead the way by being the first to do so. I dare you to, Hiew King Ceu.
ReplyDeletehttp://sabah-go-green.blogspot.com/
Yes, correct.
DeletePreviously Pakatan has proposed the same, but they have failed to walk the talk themselves. This only made them sound like hypocrites.

In Sabah, we are in urgent need of a group of new, clean and straight politician to run the state.
ReplyDeleteIs DAP implying that they are the new, clean and straight politicians? LMAO.
Then, who is the right choice now? DAP? PKR? PAS?
DeleteNow is DAP making noise again.
ReplyDeletemmg perlu istiharkan nilai aset. bukan saja kabinet kerajaan, tapi pihak pembangkang jg perlu lakukan.
ReplyDeleteBukan semua orang boleh terima khas mereka yang ada banyak asset di luar Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteAsset within Malaysia?
ReplyDeleteDatuk Musa Aman is the best CM in Sabah.
ReplyDeleteKalau cabinet Sabah declare harta bagaimana pula dengan pemimpin PR dan Pembangkang lain? Mereka buat jugakah sedemikian.
ReplyDeleteState veteran leader Tan Sri Herman Luping has noted that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman’s financial management of the Sabah government’s coffers and his forest management policies is rated the best in the nation. Musa, who has helmed the state government since the past nine years, had not only ensured the state government prospered, but had also given more political stability, prosperity and infrastructural development in the state.
ReplyDeleteLuping, a former Deputy Chief Minister during the Usno era, said Musa’s comprehensive strategy, which took into account resources from the state and federal agencies, kick-started his vision for a better and more progressive Sabah. When Musa took office, he introduced a blueprint on a strategic state development agenda called ‘Halatuju’, which focused on an aggressive effort to fully realise the state’s tourism, agriculture and manufacturing potentials. It is this ‘Halatuju’ that propelled the three sectors by leaps and bounds over the years. These three economic activities were the key in Musa’s quest to hasten the state’s economic growth and in the process, improved the well-being of the people.
ReplyDeleteLuping said the significant growth and contributions of the three sectors to the state’s economy were obvious now for everyone to see, with tourism emerging as a rising industry with increasing tourist arrivals and construction of more hotels. Sabah recorded an all time high of 2.84 million tourists last year, generating a revenue of RM4.98 billion. There are 450 hotels of various grades throughout Sabah, offering some 18,000 rooms, and the average occupancy rate is 70 per cent. Another 6,000 rooms are expected to be made available in time for the expected arrival of 3.6 million visitors by 2015.
ReplyDeleteIn the agricultural sector, he said the emphasis was to enhance food production by increasing domestic production and reducing the state’s dependence on imported food products. According to Luping, Sabah has about 2.5 million hectares of land suitable for agricultural development and to date, approximately 1.5 million hectares has been developed. The agricultural sector contributed RM7.24 billion in revenue in 2010.
ReplyDeleteLuping said the manufacturing sector was moving at a fast pace with 53 projects approved last year, involving a total capital investments of RM1.5 billion. For Sabah and Sabahans, the rapid development took place since Musa took over the state’s leadership. These developments are there to see. And because of the political stability in the state, foreign investors have been flocking here to invest and the latest statistics is more than RM10 billion. This, he said, indicated the foreign investors’ confidence in the state leadership. As Fellow Sabahan, we ought to express our gratitude to both the state and federal governments for giving the people the good life and prosperity.
