QEH2 car park lift malfunctioned

The visitors and patients to the Kota Kinabalu Queen Elizabeth Hospital 2 (QEH2) find it very inconvenient to walk down and up the staircase at the multi-storey car park due to the only passenger lift was not functioning for almost few weeks now. This is especially difficult for the sick and the elderly.

Michael Chang Hyen Kong of the Sabah MCA Public Complaint Bureau and ex-hospital visiting board vice chairman received this complaint from the public and went for the inspection to check on the condition of the lift to the multistory car park. A notice on the lift door is indicating that the repair work is waiting for spare parts.

Michael said this should not happen, and it is of priority that the lift must be maintained to top working condition at all time, and the breakdown time should be minimal.

He urges the hospital management to speed up with the repair work to all the lifts in QEH2, not only in the multi-storey car park but also those in the main building. This has been a common complaint received by the bureau recently.
