SIPITANG: Local Government
and Housing Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor said Sabahans are lucky to have Datuk
Seri Musa Aman as the Chief Minister. He described him as a visionary leader
with his halatuju vision backed by his corporate experience before entering
active politics.
"Sabah is what it is
today, economically speaking, because of Musa's skilful leadership especially
in handling Sabah's finance.
"When I was his
Assistant Finance Minister in 2001, there was just little over RM100 million in
the State coffers but now we have RM3 billion," he pointed out.
Hajiji, who is also Sabah BN
Treasurer, said this at the Sipitang Umno Annual General Meeting here recently
where he represented Sabah Umno.
In his speech, Hajiji
expressed confidence that the BN will be returned to power both at the national
and state levels.
He pointed out that at the
national level, Malaysians have been given a breath of fresh air with the
innovative leadership of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak since he took office as the
Prime Minister three years ago.
"Almost every other
day, Malaysians hear of Najib introducing something new for the benefit of
Malaysians, the latest being the RM100 million allocation for the iM4U fund for
youths.
Before this, the Prime
Minister even announced something for the taxi drivers.
"All these are in
addition to various other programmes or funds announced by Najib over the last
three years, beginning with the 1Malaysia concept and the Government
Transformation Programme as well as the Economic Transformation
Programme," he stated.
Meanwhile, Sipitang Umno
pledged its support and loyalty to Najib as Prime Minister and Musa as Chief
Minister.
"No matter what
happens, Sipitang is with Najib and Musa," declared its chief Datuk Sapawi
Ahmad who is also Sabah Umno Information Chief. (DE)
