NO MORE SMELLY TOWN PLEASE!

SMELLY…. Edward with Hiew being shown the smelly garbage bins.

By : DAP MEDIA

THE PEOPLE especially the business and eateries operators in the Putatan town had called upon the Putatan District council to install more rubbish and garbage collection centers.

They have called upon the Sabah DAP Vice chair Edward Ewol Mujie to highlight this issue concerning the highly needed rubbish and garbage collection centers in the town. The people said they want the bin centers to be set up immediately because the Putatan Member of Parliament Datuk Marcus Mojigoh said recently that the fund and infrastructure problem at Putatan district had been overcome.

At the moment, the garbage and rubbish are being disposed off into the bins which are placed in the open space. The garbage from the eateries became smelly under the hot sun and usually turned over by dogs. This also attracts flies and rats because it has not been covered properly. The people here felt very angry when the garbage was not collected for days, and sometime collection is done only once a week.

Edward said the Putatan District Council should start looking into all these public requests and start planning to install more rubbish cubicles in the Putatan town area. He was told that the garbage truck is insufficient to serve the area, and there are only two new trucks plus the five old trucks which were handed over by the Penampang District Council previously. Some trucks have broken down and waiting for repair.

We are giving chance for the new Putatan District Council to get into full swing and become functional, but that doesn’t make it an excuse for the council to work slowly and giving plenty of reason for not performing. The district councilors should be more active in assisting the upgrading of the town.

The Sabah DAP leaders often being called into Putatan by the people to look into various problems arising there, is just because they could not find a suitable link to get the matter resolved.

The DAP leaders are always ready and willing to help whatever they can, and bring the matters up with the authorities concerned. However, the DAP are being criticized by the BN for highlighting the peoples’ problem and they called it as ‘Cheap Publicity’!

Just imagine, the problem get solved, is through the hard work and the highlighting of various issue affecting the people by the DAPs. The DAP served without seeking for rewards, but ‘a simple thank you and appreciation’ will do.
