ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN MIRI TURNED UGLY

By: DAP MEDIA

THE DAP Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament, Hiew King Cheu and the Sabah DAP team in Miri felt deeply regretted to the dirty tactic used by some quarters to purposely damage the beautiful color banner sponsored by the strong supporters of DAP in Miri.

Hiew said we have just put up the banners in the afternoon around the town but at night some one came to spray black paint and wrote some bad words on it. The banners were defaced and damaged. The wording included the phrase like ‘Cina Tidak Mandi Pagi’ and ‘Cina Tidak Sunat’ etc, it is real bad!

The big bill boards put up by DAP are also being vandalized and even burnt. Some had been torn down outright.

The campaign had turned sour and ugly by such act. Hiew said this has already becoming to develop into a scene that our opponents and their supporters are getting very upset and angry of losing out in the campaign for support. The more they do to damage our campaign material the more support they will loss.

Hiew had instructed the DAP campaign workers to leave those damage posters, banners, and bill boards standing as they were. This is to show the people and voters how dirty our opponent is behaving. Why can’t they do it the correct way and the professional way, and let the voters judge who should they vote and elect?

The Sabah DAP campaign team meanwhile will move over to Bintulu to help out in a few ceramah on a day trip and will return to Miri to get ready for the polling day on the 16th of April, this Saturday.

Hiew also reminds those Sarawakian voters who are residing in Sabah to make traveling arrangement to come back to their respective constituencies to cast their votes and carry out their duty as a Malaysian. Every vote is important to bring about a change in Sarawak and later in Sabah and the whole of Malaysia.
