SAPP REJECTS ‘DIVIDE AND RULE’ POLITICS

SMILES…. All smiles of confidence at the SAPP Supreme Council meeting.

By : CHONG PIT FAH

SAPP reaffirms its readiness to discuss with any other opposition political party in facing the BN in the coming general elections. The party Supreme Council, which met today at its headquarters in Kota Kinabalu, said it expects other parties to recognise and fully accept SAPP as a non-racial party with its long standing mission "to establish a trustworthy government and a progressive, just and harmonious society".

SAPP rejects the old politics of divide and rule imposed by the then British colonialists and now the BN-UMNO regime by splitting the people along racial and religious lines.

SAPP reaffirms its path in that it has gone a long way in its relationship with parti PKR ever since 2008 when SAPP left the ruling coalition and joined the opposition ranks. This is SAPP's role, sacrifice and struggle in bringing about change to Sabah.

SAPP therefore will continue its discussions with parti PKR, which has reached an advanced stage, in reaching a winnable formula for the combined opposition in Sabah.

SAPP reaffirms its fight for autonomy for Sabah and respect for the letter and spirit of the Malaysia Agreement 1963; and therefore subscribes to the Borneo Agenda of United Borneo Front (UBF) which is similar to SAPP's 8 points declaration made in 2008.

SAPP is open to further discussions with the parti STAR so that the combined opposition can achieve maximum results in the general elections.
