SENDING FORTH A NEW CROP

THE MINISTER of Agriculture and Food Industry, Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin yesterday urged all Agriculture Training Centres in the state to provide a well equipped and more conducive learning environment to produce youths who can become successful agricultural entrepreneurs.

Yahya, who is also Deputy Chief Minister was at a Graduation Ceremony of the Integrated Agriculture Skills Course Certificate and Entrepreneur Recognition at Kota Kinabalu today.

"I also urge the Agriculture Department to use the Blue Ocean Strategy approach when implementing its various programs, especially in the development of human capital, whether in cooperation with government sectors or private sectors," he said.

The Integrated Agriculture Skill Course Certificate was first launched in 1997 and has produced 553 certificate recipients to date. This is the 17th group of certificate recipients with 30 graduates from all over Sabah.

The ceremony also awarded Entrepreneur Recognition to 74 outstanding agriculture entrepreneurs from across the state.





LAUNCHING.....Yahya accompanied by Director of State Agriculture, Ismail Salam at the launching of Dietary books at the Integrated Agriculture Skill Courses Certificate Presentation Ceremony.

Yahya congratulated and advised the certificate recipients  to work hard and persevere in order to achieve success.

"To all graduates, I congratulate you on your success. Now you are young men and women who will become modern agriculture entrepreneurs. You play an important role to realize the government's goal in the development of the agriculture sector," he said.  (Insight Sabah)
