KENINGAU: A 15-year-old rape victim was rescued after making a call to her mother with her cellphone while being locked in a house on October 8 by a man identified as her boyfriend and two other men.

The three men were among four local suspects arrested in connection with two rape cases this month, with the other case involving an elderly farmer who allegedly raped a handicapped girl in Sook.

District police chief DSP Robert Salisip @ David told a press conference yesterday that in the first incident, the teenage girl lodged a police report at the police headquarters here on October 9 at 4.24 pm, stating that her boyfriend 21, and two of his friends, aged 17 and 25, brought her to a house in a housing estate here in a Kancil vehicle.

“At the house the victim was forced by her boyfriend to consume alcohol before the latter started to rape her three times from 6.25pm.

“After being raped, the victim was forced to drink again until she lost unconscious, and when she regained consciousness at 11.30 pm she found herself locked in the house,” Robert said.

He said the victim used her cellphone to contact her mother, who then called the police.

Acting on the information provided by the victim, a police team from the Crime Investigation Department managed to arrest the three suspects about 12.30am.

He said the suspects then led police to the house where the victim was locked and police investigation revealed that the house belonged to one of the suspects.

Investigation showed the three suspects went to an entertainment outlet located near the house after locking the girl in the house, he said, adding that the house belonged to one of the suspects.

Robert reminded parents to always monitor the movements of their daughters and be aware of the friends they hang out with.

In the other case, the 67-year-old farmer was arrested after the 21-year-old handicapped woman claimed she was raped by him about 6pm on October 2.

Robert said the victim returned home and told her mother that an old man wearing eyeglasses had raped her.

The mother made a police report at the district police headquarters on Oct 5 at 11am.

The four suspects are being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, he said. (BP)
