MAB SHOULD RUN AIRPORT PROPERLY

THE PASSENGERS at the KKIA Terminal 2 filed their complaints to the Sabah DAP Putatan Branch Chairman Salleh Yussof (picture) over the issue of the terminal not providing enough cool air air-conditioning inside the terminal. They also complained that their cars always faced traffic police summons for not parked properly.

The passengers said it is so hot inside the air terminal in the afternoon while waiting for their planes, and it is at times like sitting in an oven. It is not just happening now but it has been like this for quite sometimes and in spite many complaints had been made still no action taken. The Malaysian Airport Berhad (MAB) who is in charge of the Malaysian airport seem not doing anything about it.

The passengers suffered the heat, and what is the point for them to pay heavy airport taxes and get third class treatments. We know we have to pay heavy airport taxes whether you like it or not, but all we expected better services than this.

The car parking spaces are important to the people and it is the responsibility of the MAB to look into it. They have to make available the necessary parking space in front the terminal, and not just thinking to collect parking fees only.

Our most valued tourists have also complained that most of our airports in Sabah are no good and not up to standard, and these are not passenger friendly. The good example is the KKIA terminal 2 where many tourists frequently going through.

The KK MP Hiew King Cheu had missed his flight while waiting in the Tawau Airport recently. This is because he couldn’t hear a clear announcement through the poor sound system, and there was no indicating light box showing the flight number which is ready for boarding.

The whole sequence and set up for the passenger boarding is totally messy. What is the MAB going to do about it? Why should the MAB charge heavy airport taxes and yet can not provide the basic facilities for the passengers?

Salleh said the people what the MAB to perform and not just to collect the airport taxes from the passengers and do nothing. The Malaysian government should also step in to put pressure on MAB for them to put things right.

The Sabah BN Ministers always go in and out of the airports in Sabah, how come they didn’t notice the problem which is always there for a long time? Salleh said if the MAB cannot do the right thing they should at least reduce the heavy airport taxes. We pay the services and not the suffering and the discomfort.
