SUTERA Harbour Resort
kickstart the festive season with its second Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The lighting ceremony was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister cum Minister of
Resource Development and Information Technology, Dr Yee Moh Chai and his wife,
Datin Vicky Yee.
Among other VIPs who
attended the ceremony included the Mayor of Kota Kinabalu City, Datuk Abidin
Madingkir and President of Sutera Harbour Resort, Datuk Edward Ong.
This year's event was held
at the Lobby Lounge of the Pacific Sutera Hotel.
Guests lit the many candles
placed around the Christmas tree and joined the 30 carollers from Lifeline
Sacred Heart KK in singing Christmas songs.
The General Manager of
Pacific Sutera Hotel, Stefan Willimann expressed his hope that an event such as
this would further promote peace and unity among the Kota Kinabalu community.
And in conjunction with the
season of giving, Sutera Harbour Resort also launched the Sutera Endangered
Friends Charity Drive, which sees the sale of its Pygmy Elephant and Sumatran
Rhino soft toys. Proceeds form the sale will go to the underprivileged
kindergardens and homes in Sabah, namely My Care Sdn Bhd, Emamanuel Houses and
Paitan Kindergarden. (Insight Sabah)
