THE overgrown trees in front of the famous historical and high valued tourism land mark are blocking the overall view of the old KK City Atkinson clock tower.

The Sabah DAP team was requested by the Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Hiew King Cheu to check on the public complaints and comments received from tourists in the Gaya street. They said those the trees are too tall standing in front the clock tower and almost blocking the whole structure of the historical clock tower.

Edward Ewol Mujie, John Lee Kim Seng and Allen Chieng of the Sabah DAP were on the spot to check on the complaints and found that the big trees in front the clock tower is indeed blocking the view from the front.

They said it is high time that DBKK or other relevant authorities should come to trim and cut off the top portion of the trees and reduce the blockage to the view of the high valued Atkinson Clock Tower.

This important land mark should be protected and many people in KK City had literately forgotten about the existence of this old clock tower which is still working fine and reporting accurate time with loud charm to the KK folks.

DAP suggests that the surrounding environment should be beautified with flowers beds, and some benches should be placed there for the town folks to relax and enjoy the scene.
