DEEP POT HOLES MEANS DANGEROUS!

THE business owners complained to the Sabah DAP Vice Chairman, Edward Ewol Mujie concerning the poor condition of the Inanam Baru roads which are serving the popular motor vehicle spare parts shops. There are more then 70 over shops here and the people here are facing bad roads filled with big and deep pot holes.

According to the people who frequently buy their car spare parts, they find it difficult to drive and trying to avoid the deep potholes. Some motor cycles sometimes rammed into the deep holes filled with water.

Edward said it is the responsibility of the DBKK to check and ensure the roads and pavement under the care of the DBKK to ensure a tip top condition at all times. The road maintenance contractor employed by the DBKK is seen not performing his job under the terms and conditions of the contract work. This is proven by the appearance of the bad roads in Kota Kinabalu City.

He recommended that if the contractor cannot discharge his contracted responsibility, he should surrender his contract and allow some one more capable to handle the task. We cannot pay some one who doesn’t do their work properly. Edward urges the new Mayor to pay particular attention towards this issue and should take action against any contractor who does not perform to their contracted work and execute with due responsibility.

There are many contractors employed by the DBKK and certain performance index must be set to check on their performance and efficiency. We rate payers paid our rates and we expect some good service in return, and may be our new Mayor Datuk Abidin can review and put in some effort to put right these.
