Dear Editor,
IMMORALITY checks on ‘Valentine Day’ by authorities carry out in Kedah, Kelantan and Selangor is very good move and it's not a nightmare to tourists visiting Malaysia. Tourism Minister should instead support the move and that's the way to educate young couple not to act any wrong doing during valentine day.
Immorality check also as part of a campaign to promote clean living. Promote visit Malaysia by people in the tourism industry is another story and we don't mixed the issue to gain public support. I don't think if you go out to have dinner or movie with your love one the authority will catch you or check you.
If you done nothing wrong, why are we afraid of the authority? The tourism should pay more attention to the front liner like taxi, tour agent and hotel who always don't use meter and increase high room rate during holiday time and for tour agent advertise travel rate at one price and later add other charges when we confirm and this kind of problem are more serious which can really scare off the tourists than immorality checks which I think most of the parent in Malaysia will not against the move.
With sense when we comment as you think the authority will just simply go and check or knock at a tourist room or discourage them to hug and walk in the street as you can see them are tourist from foreign country.
Lastly, we hope the tourism ministry should pay more attention on the taxi without using meter which really chase away tourist and spoil the image of Malaysia.
Best Regards,
DAVID ERICSON, LABUAN.
