YOU SAID IT, NOT ME!

By: DOMINIC GERARD JOSEPH

DO you believe that the 'rakyat' cultivates a variety of perceptions on almost everything and anything, from politics to food? This is how I have developed my perception on the following three news releases :

PKR is falling apart, says PM and he went on to say, 'Exodus shows something not right with party.' In the same function held in Miri, Sarawak an oil producing state governed by BN, the PM discovered that the state has problems related to roads, electricity and water supply. I'm wondering which one of the two problems is the PM going to focus on, (a) unifying PKR or (b) solving the problems related to roads, electricity and water supply in Sarawak? By the way the PM requested he needs more time to solve the problems. I too agree with him. I believe 40 years is too short of a time for slow thinkers and doers.

The next chap Jeffry a crusader for Sabahans and probably in his earlier life played the trumpet for the 'Saint Gabriel's' choir, was even bolder by asking PKR leadership to close shop in Sabah. The crusader went on to say, the leadership was using East Malaysians as 'stooges' for their political game in peninsula. I have observed that for several momths now Jeffry has used the Media to discredit PKR. A rather strange development. I personally feel that the best angle for Jeffry to take would be to explain himself on his strong leadership qualities and the strict compliance to accounting standards and financial-audit operating systems he applied while heading Sabah Foundation. Did you?

Finally Pajudin Nordin who saw light in UMNO and began speaking in tongues when he said 'On the other hand, I see the PM and the Chief Minister of Sabah providing real leadership in the country.' Could this suggest that Pajuddin is proud that Sabah is the poorest state in Malaysia.

My humble suggestion to aspiring politicians, please remember this quote from Abraham Lincoln:

"Its better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and resolve all doubt."
