EXTEND ‘E-KASIH’ TO BINGKOR

By: DAP MEDIA

Sabah DAP Parliamentary Liaison Chief for Keningau and Tenom, Dr Benjamin Yapp visited a hardcore family at Kampung Kuangoh, Bingkor in Keningau at Kampung Kuangoh, Bingkor to provide assistance to the poor family but it seems that no positive actions have been taken by the Government to look into the plights of the unfortunate poor families in the rural areas.

Dr Benjamin Yapp interviewed with a household named Teep Bin Kadoi, a Dusun farmer, aged 45 years old with six dependants, children namely Nelson, aged 14, Christine, aged 12, Masrinadi Zandra, aged 11, Cynthia Natasha, aged 10, Elie Veliza, aged 4 and an infant child of 1 yr 2 mths old living in a miserable environment at an old, dilapicated wooden house with cracks and broken plywood walls and damaged floors.

This hardcore family has been staying at the old house for many years without electricity supply as they could not afford to install electricity nor could they afford to pay for electricity bills so they have to put up with the hardships for so many years.

“It’s really pitiful and sad to see the poor little innocent children suffering in silence in such an acute poverty” said Dr Benjamin.

Teep complained to Sabah DAP interior mobile service team that despite of his previous applications and appeal for PPRT since 2007, he had never received any PPRT assistance until this very day.

Sabah DAP urged the local authority concerned to look into the plights of the hardcore poor families in the rural areas in order to eradicate poverty among the poor rural communities in the interior.
