THE LAND owners and
residents in the Kg Rampaian, Menggatal at Mile 10.5 Tuaran Road complained to
the Inanam Sabah DAP office concerning the SESB High Tension power line land
reserve being fenced off but certain people which had caused much unset and
disturbance to the people here.
The said person has built
fences and concrete drain structures on the land directly under the high
voltage power line which cut off the access road built by the people here to
their lands.
The inspection carried out
by the Sabah DAP vice chairman cum Bureau chief of Local Government and Housing
Edward Ewol Mujie saw that the SESB land reserve had been fenced off and the
passage way for others had been blocked.
The service team from the
SESB on the high tension power line will not be able to pass through in the
event of line breakdown and future maintenance. The work being carrying out
under the power line is not sure whether they have the SESB approval and
permission.
The people here told Edward
that they have constructed the two kilometer access road with their own money
and did the earth fill connecting to the Tuaran main road for the purpose of
gaining access to their land here.
There are already many
houses, factories, warehouses, and intended industry to be put up here. This is
their only access road available and there is no other road reserve here being
marked out. There are many cars and trucks using this road daily, and it is
covering a wide area.
The said land owner had in
fact using the SESB land reserve for his own private use without bearing
consideration for others. This caused much dismay among the kampong folks and
the land owners here. The people requested for the help from Sabah DAP to bring
the matter up with the SESB and the relevant authorities.
Edward said he will contact
SESB, DBKK and the Land and Survey concerning the matter. At the mean while,
Edward advices the land owners here to apply to SESB for the use of the land
under the High Tension to be use as an access road.
SESB must act fast to grant
this people the right to use their land reserve under the power line, and the
people’s application will be forwarded to SESB office soonest possible. The
construction work here must be stopped to avoid further inconveniences and
complication.
