NO FUND FOR ABANDONED QUARTERS?

ABANDONED….. Edward showing the civil servant quarters in Inanam.

SABAH DAP wants the JKR (Public Works Department) to explain why the huge block of quarters in Inanam for the government civil servants owned by JKR were seen without proper care and maintenance and the occupancy rate is very low.

This follows receiving many concern public complaints by the Sabah DAP Local Government and Housing Bureau on the current status and condition on the government building which looks dirty, abandoned and created an unsightly scene in the Kota Kinabalu City, Edward Ewol Mujie the Bureau Chief making the call.

There are some civil servants still living in the run-down building which they said the building is being totally neglected and they have no choice but to continue to stay there. The question is why the government did not put in an effort to maintain all the government buildings in Sabah.

What is the Minister of Infrastructure Development, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kittingan who is incharge of the JKR department doing? Is he doing his job properly or the BN government is actually no funding to do the maintenance job, Edward asked?

There are many other such government buildings in the whole of Sabah state needed immediate attention, and the Inanam quarter building could be only one of the many. Many people feel that this shouldn’t be the case and this reflect the ill-management and slack administration of the authorities concern.

If their own building they can’t manage well, what else to expect from them, said Edward. This is because Sabah is having a slack BN government who had brought much hardship, difficulties, agony, set-back and annoyance to the Sabahan.

It is time that the Sabahan who loves their home land to wake up and it is time for us to bring in a new dynamic and responsible government to replace the BN which also to ensure our future well being is not jeopardized.
