KLANG: An alleged serial
rapist believed to have had sexual relations with four underage girls has been
arrested after the parents of one of the girls lodged a report against him.
The 20-year-old employee of
a forwarding company befriended the teenage girls through Facebook.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm
Mohamed Mat Yusop said the man had been charged in court in March last year for
committing the offence with the first victim and was released on bail.
“We arrested him again on
Sept 6 after receiving a report from the parents of another victim in similar
circumstances.
“When we interrogated the
man, he confessed to having sex with two other girls between March and
September last year while he was out on bail,” he said in a press conference at
the South Klang police headquarters yesterday.
He said the suspect, who is
from a village here, committed the offences in different locations.
ACP Mohamed said the man had
been remanded until Thursday for further investigations, adding that the case
was being investigated as statutory rape under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
Meanwhile, three armed men
were arrested three days after they robbed a house in Taman Sungai Jati here on
Sept 6.
ACP Mohamed said police
arrested the three men aged 18 to 27 at an apartment near Bandar Puteri Puchong
at around 2am on Sunday.
“The men used a rented taxi
in order to get unsuspecting homeowners into opening their doors believing they
had visitors.
“Initial investigations
revealed that the men had been involved in at least three cases in the
district,” he said, adding that police recovered a knife, jewellery worth about
RM10,000 as well as a laptop believed to be stolen. (The STAR)
