POLICE CONQUER FOH SANG TOWN?

SURPRISE…. Hiew talked with police officer concerning the feeling of the people in Foh Sang

By : DAP MEDIA

YESTERDAY, the people in Foh Sang Luyang felt threatened and frighten when they saw lorry loads of police personals flooding into the peaceful Foh Sang shops area. There is estimated some one hundred over uniformed and plain clothes policemen joined with a big group of RELA members.

There were never such big group of policemen pounding the area in history, why suddenly there is so many of them here. In Foh Sang a quiet small place in Kota Kinabalu has always been peaceful.

The people and one particular Mrs. Chong complained that normally when we need to find a policeman to help us is so difficult and the police always say they are short handed. Why now there is suddenly some many policemen can appear on the street?

The KK MP Hiew King Cheu felt that there is no need to have such a ‘big do’ in Foh Sang because there wasn’t going to be any big rally by anyone anyway. We have been always peaceful here and we don’t want to spoil that. The action of the police is being insensitive and inconsiderate on the whole situation, why can’t they asked and checked properly before deploying the forces here.

This is again a waste of public fund and causing the public losses in business, because many businesses had suffered from customers refused to turn up. The whole action is uncalled for.

Hiew said it will be more beneficial for the police to tackle crime in an efficient and effective way. The burglars and robbers are getting more active more in Kota Kinabalu nowadays. The police normally are slow to protect the people on preventing crimes and solving crimes.

The many cases of break in and people being robbed in Kota Kinabalu City have showed that our police has to pay much more attention in their work. Don’t let crime happen and that come to take action. It will be too late then. A frequent police petrol and surveillance is necessary to all areas which is classified as high risk areas. The housing area is always the easy target and they are sometimes far from any police station.

The Kingfisher Park, UMS, Likas, Yayasan Sabah, 1-Borneo, Alam Mesra shopping and the nearby Likas areas in Kota Kinabalu are the area where they urgently needed a police station to be set up immediately to allow the people to get help quickly.

It is a must for the police to consider to have a building on their own for the purpose. At the moment, they are using a shop unit in Taman Alam Mesra to act as their station.

Hiew said there is a plan to build a new police station was announced long time ago, but when will this be implemented?
