KWAN, SOLUTION FOR OIL ROYALTI?

HAPPY.... Elizabeth Wong, Selangor State Exco; Gan Pei Nee- ADUN for Rawang, Lee - ADUN for Kajang and leaders from PKR Kedah & PKR Perlis with Dr Roland Chia.

PAKATAN Rakyat (PR) will set up a special petroleum fund to ensure a more equitable portion of oil revenue from Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan and Terengganu is given back to the states, this is in addition to the immediate increase of 20% for Sabah as promised in the 'Buku Jingga' PR Manifesto.

This was reported by PKR Supreme Council Member cum PKR Sabah Secretary Dr Roland Chia – who attended the Pakatan Rakyat National Convention in Alor Setar on the 14 Jan 2012.

This special petroleum funds would help 'stabilise' revenue and expenditure in the oil-producing states even as Malaysia’s reserves continue to dwindle. The special fund will be similar to Kumpulan Wang Amanah Nasional (KWAN) but will be under the control of the state governments,” as part of the PR Manifesto.

The various state government would use part of this new oil revenue to absorb all higher education loans undertaken since 2005. “Oil royalty will be paid and all PTPTN loans will be absorbed,”

Sabah and Sarawak will also be given greater autonomy under Pakatan Rakyat in line with the special position of the two east Malaysian states. He stressed that the PR pact will give both states a freer hand in deciding on local issues, especially in education and public services.

“Pakatan Rakyat will allocate federal power to states in matters that fall under state and local jurisdictions. The state governments chosen by the people should be respected by the federal government.”

  1. Kita hanya boleh tunggu dan lihat sahaja, ini tidak boleh dicapai kecuali PKR menjadi Kerajaan. Bukan senang hendak menawan Putrajaya.

  9. Even though PKR's intentions are good (hopefully!), but we have to wait for the 13th GE results. At the moment, all the best to all parties.
